Greater Manchester Older Peoples Network

The Greater Manchester Older People’s Network (GMOPN) provides an opportunity for older people to have a voice in the design, delivery and evaluation of Ambition for Ageing. Membership is drawn from older people involved in Ambition for Ageing in their local communities, plus other older people interested in influencing the work of the programme.  The development of the GMOPN is supported by the Ambition for Ageing (AfA) programme and facilitated by Manchester Community Central (MACC).

Longer term, the GMOPN will also provide a voice for older people across the city region beyond the life of the Ambition for Ageing programme.

Membership is open to all older people living in Greater Manchester. The network members meet regularly to:

  • discuss matters of concern to older people;
  • share ideas that could have a positive benefit for people's lives;
  • develop ways to improve or change policies or services for older people.
