Ambition for Ageing seeks Scaled Programmes' Assessment Panel Volunteers
Scaled Programmes are a number of projects that have been developed out of four design workshops held in early 2017. Three of the final projects, or programmes, are now ready to receive investment to start delivery:
- Festival of Ageing
- Community Media
- Community Navigators
These programmes have been developed in response to what people aged over 50 said they wanted, which included: change to the negative way that older people are sometimes presented in society; help to find out about what was going on in their communities; and support to access interests and activities. For more information about the programmes, please click here.
The next stage involves finding organisations who can effectively deliver these programmes through a competitive process. Ambition for Ageing believes that people over 50 should be at the heart of the programme by being involved in consultation, design and decision-making. We therefore invite residents of Greater Manchester who are over 50 to share their skills and knowledge by acting as voluntary panel members during the assessment of applications.
There is a training day on Thursday 3rd August in Manchester; it's essential to attend the training in order to take part on the panels. The Festival of Ageing and Community Media panels will take place in the week of 21st August, and the Community Navigator panels will occur in the week of 25th September.
Update 5/7/17: These panels are likely to take place several weeks later than initially planned; exact dates will be confirmed by the end of July.
For more information, please download the recruitment pack below. If you would like to be involved, you should complete and return the Expression of Interest form to siobhan.foley@gmcvo.org.uk or adele.postins@gmcvo.org.uk by 17th July.
