BAME Ageing in the Community Conference

Are you a funder or commissioner who is interested in learning more about the challenges faced by older BAME communities in neighbourhoods?

We are excited to invite you to our event on understanding what ageing in place means for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities on Tuesday 25th August, 1pm - 3pm.

This is a nation-wide event for commissioners and funders. We want to draw attention to the importance of social connection and infrastructure in preventing the social isolation of older people from BAME communities.

We will be launching our new report, Ageing in Place for Minority Ethnic communities: the importance of social infrastructure, which explores how individuals from BAME communities use places, organisations and services for social contact and interaction.

This event is led by Ambition for Ageing and the Zebra Partnership, delivered on behalf of the Ageing Better programme which is a programme set up by The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.

Workshops will draw from learning and case studies from Ageing Better partnerships across England.

We will share key recommendations from the report and consider where we go next in a session led by our keynote speaker Patrick Vernon OBE, the Centre for Ageing Better.
