Call for Evidence: Finance and Older People

The Ambition for Ageing team at GMCVO are working with the GM Ageing Hub to identify what the issues are for older people around financial security. We are looking for reports, minutes or notes from conversations with older people, informal feedback or suggestions from your experiences. This could be something you have worked on yourself, or just information you are aware of.

So far, we have identified, amongst other topics, digital exclusion and movement towards a cashless society, being out of work, WASPI women, understanding benefits & pensions, living in poverty, savings, debt and budgeting, fraud and scams, using banks and the post office, housing and legal issues.

We are looking for information relating to these topics, in addition to any other suggestions you may have about issues not included in this list.

Although the work will look at the impact of COVID-19, this paper will cover issues that existed before COVID and will exist after.

Your feedback will be used to identify the issues faces by older people with recommendations for future work to tackle these issues and where further research is needed.

If you have any information as to what these issues are please send any information to ambition@gmcvo.org.uk before Tuesday 30th June 2020.

Update March 2021: The policy paper can be downloaded from our resources page: www.ambitionforageing.org.uk/financialsecurity
