Celebrating the GM Older People’s Network: Where are we now and where are we going? – Event report
The Greater Manchester Older People’s Network (GMOPN) is a group of older people and organisations that support them, working in Greater Manchester to make sure that older people’s voices are heard on issues that matter to them. They are supported by Macc and funded by the Ambition for Ageing programme.
The basis of the report is a celebration event held in January that looked at the achievements of the GMOPN and their future focus. The Network discussed previous GMOPN reports on health, housing and transport, and provided insight and ideas that would guide the network with future work in these areas. They also suggested more general areas of focus and campaigning principles that would help ensure that the network achieved its goals in making Greater Manchester the best place it can be for older people to live.
