Anna's talk, titled 'Opportunities of an ageing society: Looking beyond the challenges', argued the need to recognise the contribution of people in later life; they are an asset to our society. Older workers, for example, are a vital source of skills and labour, the over 50s are a substantial and growing consumer market; and 1.4 million people aged over 65 are unpaid carers.
