Culture Champions winning bids announced
We are delighted to report that we have appointed the following three organisations to work with us on the Culture Champions Project:
Bolton at Home will connect existing cultural activists with new Culture Champions to create a network which will connect with communities across Bolton. They will support the creation of cultural activity through a range of avenues, including linking creative professionals with groups who wish to develop new projects suited to their needs.
Bury Art Museum in partnership with the Met, Bury Transport Museum, Bury Fusilier Museum and Age UK Bury will provide opportunities for older people to participate in existing projects and create new age-friendly activity. The Culture Champions will help to create a ‘cultural passport’ that will provide a range of options for older people to engage in the wide range of cultural assets across Bury’s cultural quarter.
Salford CVS will be building on their existing volunteer programmes to create a network of Culture Champions and will work with them to identify the types of age friendly arts, culture and heritage activities they would like to get involved in, identify any barriers to involvement and create new cultural activity.
There wasn’t a successful bid for the development of the existing Manchester network but we are working with partners to find a way of moving forward as quickly as possible. We’ll keep everyone updated through the Ambition for Ageing network. Sign up to receive our bulletins here.
