Emergency Grants for GM BAME Communities
Between July and December 2020 GM BAME Network will be giving out a total of £225,000 in grants to small GM BAME led VCSE organisations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in order to respond to the needs of BAME communities. GMCVO will be supporting the administration of these grants.
The grants are funded by Comic Relief and the National Emergency Fund in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Grants will be available for GM BAME led VCSE organisations, with an annual income of under £10,000, to focus on emergency needs within BAME communities. The grants will fund new activities and services as well as the additional costs of adapting existing services due to COVID-19. The grants will also help counter the loss of fundraising income directly caused by the pandemic.
The grants will be released in two ways:
1. From the beginning of August, micro grants of £50-£1000, with a short, online application form and decisions being made within three weeks of application.
2. From the beginning of September, small grants of £1000-£3,000. These grants will be a one off grants round and applicants will be given a decision by the end of November 2020.
Organisations can apply for both a micro and small grant.
If you want to apply for a grant, first of all you will need to register with GMCVO's grants portal. Then you will need to fill in a short online application form telling us about your organisation, what you would like to do, what you would spend the funding on and who will benefit from your project.
