Growing Older with Learning Difficulties – winning bid announced
We are delighted to announce that we have awarded the Growing Older with Learning Disabilities (GOLD) contract to Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU). To deliver this work MMU will be leading a partnership comprising Future Directions CIC, Manchester People First and Pathways Associate CIC.
GOLD aims to encourage of people with learning disabilities to become co-researchers in identifying what factors prevent older people with learning disabilities from taking part in social activities. The findings of the research will then be published and will form the basis of a campaign for future change.
We look forward to working with MMU, who already have strong connections with communities of older people living with learning disabilities. Additionally, thanks to the experience and expertise of their three partner organisations – with whom they already have an established track record of success – they can also provide extensive knowledge of setting up and managing co-research projects.
