Learning Event: Building Age-friendly Places

This is an opportunity for statutory colleagues to learn from Ambition for Ageing’s approach to delivering place-based working. Join us for an interactive learning event about building age-friendly neighbourhoods.

Background

Over the last five years Ambition for Ageing has been delivering a £10.2m age-friendly programme funded through the National Lottery Community Fund. We now want to share the practical learning developed through our successful work.

About the workshop

We have developed a workshop that will give statutory sector frontline staff and managers a chance to learn from our Ambition for Ageing providers before delivery draws to a close in March 2020.

The workshop will be an opportunity to:

a) Find out more about research-based practical guidance on aspects of place-based working

b) Hear directly from older people and experts involved in Ambition for Ageing and place-based working

c) Mix with people from across GM with similar interests, share knowledge and views and to explore practical ways to build age-friendly places#

d) Take part in an interactive example of creating an age-friendly plan

Dates and times:

We will be running the same workshop twice in different locations across GM:

  • Thursday 14th November 2019 – from 10.00 am until 3.30 pm (registration from 9.15 am) venue to be confirmed

  • Tuesday 3rd December 2019 – from 10.00 am until 3.30 pm (registration from 9.15 am) venue to be confirmed
