Manchester Culture Champions, a programme led by the Royal Exchange Theatre, have published their summary and learning report. 

The aim of Culture Champions was to develop age-friendly volunteering and engagement in cultural activities. We also funded the programme in Bolton and Bury, led by Bolton at Home and Bury Art Museum respectively. Click here to read more.

The Royal Exchange Theatre delivered Manchester Culture Champions from 2019 - 2020.  Drawing on the huge reservoir of experience, drive and passion for culture to be found among the Culture Champions, the aim was to attract more older people, particularly from diverse communities and from the more northerly neighbourhoods of Manchester to get involved.

Culture and cultural institutions are vital to community life and we are delighted to have funded an organisation such as the Royal Exchange Theatre to drive cultural engagment amongst socially isolated and often marginalised older people.
