Social Eating scaled programme launch – invitation to bid

Ambition for Ageing is seeking to fund a partnership to develop and compare a range of sustainable social eating schemes within a diverse range of communities in Greater Manchester.

Social eating has a number of benefits for the emotional wellbeing of older people. It instils feelings of community, identity and self-worth, provides a sense of structure and routine and establishes a regular event to look forward to.  Our new programme seeks to increase the number of opportunities for older people to eat together in Greater Manchester, thereby creating a range of social occasions where people feel they belong, can bond with existing friends and make new connections.

The work will be delivered across at least four of the following areas: Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Tameside and Wigan.

Contract length and value

The contract period will run from July 2018 until March 2020.

The contract value is £250,000.
