Upcoming seminar on co-production in ageing research

We are excited to invite you to attend our upcoming seminar, Co-production in ageing research: current practices and new ways forward.

Speaker: Patty Doran, Research Associate in the Manchester Urban Ageing Research Group

When: Wednesday 6th October 2pm – 3:15pm, Online

Co-production of ageing research does not solely relate to engaging with older people as co-researchers. Transdisciplinary co-production can be used to co-produce knowledge through the combination of perspectives from a variety of stakeholders, including policy-makers, community members, and academics. By identifying and bringing together a range of stakeholders in any given research project, co-production methods can be utilised to better understand the changing needs of age-friendly cities.

This seminar will discuss why co-production is important to ageing research, what we currently know about using transdisciplinary co-production and what evidence gaps still remain.

Patty Doran is a Research Associate in the Manchester Urban Ageing Research Group working on the Ageing in Place in Cities project. Her current research interests centre on health, inequalities, social support and the life course and using mixed methods to address complex research questions.
