Age UK Tameside and Action Together, previously Community and Voluntary Action Tameside (CVAT) are working together to deliver the Ambition for Ageing programme in Tameside across Ashton Waterloo, Denton South and Hyde Newton.
We are working closely with older people in each of these areas to create more age-friendly neighbourhoods and reduce social isolation. We are constantly talking to people aged over 50 to find out what is great about growing old in their area and also how we can continue to work together to improve things. We share news and information with each other about what is already going on and working well, and also what we create together in future in terms of new activities. Additionally we have recruited community investigators to help find ways of reaching out to people who are socially isolated. Working in close conjunction with these investigators and also with ward based steering groups, we are moving the programme forward and making ongoing decisions about where to invest for success.
Age UK Tameside always ensures that older people are linked into developing new activities and networks, and is committed to working with our partner organisations to make a real difference.
